Phoenix Martial Arts travelled to Solihull for the ITFU British Championships, with a small but mighty squad of six competitors, led by 3rd Dan Instructor Richard Lane.
Our Junior Boys Black Belt team—Adam McKinlay, Joseph McKinlay, and Logan Rutherford—all delivered gold-medal-winning performances in their respective sparring divisions. Mr Lane added to the medal tally with a hard-fought bronze in the Black Belt Veteran sparring category.
Kelsey Lane showed excellent skill and determination, earning a silver medal in the Girls Coloured Belt sparring division. In the Men's Coloured Belt division, Lucas Kershaw secured a silver in sparring and a bronze in patterns, showcasing his versatility and commitment.
Despite the long and extremely hot day—with the competition running well into the evening—the Phoenix squad returned home with an impressive haul: 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals from just six competitors.
It was a rewarding and proud day for Phoenix Martial Arts, highlighting the strength, discipline, and resilience of our Swindon Taekwondo team.
